I think I'd just have issues with it. Got the lawn mowed last night in the dark. Died 8 or so times and wouldn't restart on the last one (which left only a small area on the side).

Actually I think they're supposed to do better on low, turf-type grasses like Zosia than on what I have, which is a mixture of abundant native weeds with a little Kentucky 31 fescue here and there. I know from experience that if it gets taller than the top of the blades, a reel mover will only push it over. Dandelions? Forget it. Still, I like just rolling it out of the garage and mowing. Virtually no maintenance; nice and quiet. No need for gas is a plus.

Aren't reel mowers used on golf greens?

I have one of those arround somewhere and I think that engine has the carbureator on top of the gas tank, I read the thread a couple days ago and thought I had the answer, but couldn't remember what it was, maby I'll get a chance to look at mine tomorrow, but I think it is the model with the rubber parts that get hard and don't work properly, basically it is a very simple fuel pump and when the rubber gets just a little stiff the fuel won't pump any more and you are SOL.
