So all svx are the same mechanically for the most part except steering and tranny mod? No real reason to buy a 97 vs a 92 except personell preference or miles/mods?

Color me skeptical, but weren't the '92's a tad faster some reason?
I thought they were more desirable, if you can find a nice one, obviously.
Like mine; sits in the garage all waxed and shiny...driven once a week only
because I can't stand it!

The reason for the 92-93s, at least the ones sold in the US, for being a tad faster is because of the lack of a passenger airbag and maybe the tranny cooler. Either that or a bunch of other things aside from the tranny cooler bumped it by roughly 200lbs.

Weight was a factor, but I think a lot had to do with the changes they made to the transmission.

Basically. As long as its in good shape it really doesn't matter what year it is. They are nearly identical.

Well the rarest is my SilverBabe... Only one of a kind ever built in 1994 with custom paint, custom suspension, custom bodykit, custom wheels, custom interior, custom exhaust...... I will even start customizing myslef at the end... No really!! i will !! (Just a Lazer operation just to get rid off my glasses...)

The '92s have always been my favorite! I dont think of the tranny as being a
"flaw", its just the personality of the beast, but I will say, my '92 seems to push me back in the seat more than the '95 (dont you just love that feeling).

Preferences

For speed--my 94 is the fastest. For ordinary driving or trips I prefer my 96. The 92s are just around for sometimes fun.

What about when "modding" them... any specific year to look at... I know someone said something about 94 or 95 and up... but ya, 92 LS-L's go 0-60 in 6.9 sevs... thats the fastest 0-60 time out of all the SVX's...

Probably 95

General opinion is that the 95 is the best year if you plan on modding it. It has all the improvements and does not have the OBDII limitations of the 96 and 97.

What about the 92's though...

I "plan" to do the following depending on the funds...

1. Suspension- Coilovers
2. Brakes- Slotted and Cross Drilled
3. Turbo- Forced Air Induction
4. 5/6 speed conversion- WRX or STi...
5. Intake
6. Pullies
7. Wheels- Rota Subzeros
8. Custom Bodykit
9. Exhaust
10 Sound System
11. Some other stuff, lol

First though, I suppose I should buy a SVX, lol... and I also need ot win the lotto...
