update

the garage has it and they've decided that it is not the rear seal!! yeah!!! but the car is leaking and he seems to think it is coolant? and is finally falling from the rear seal area. next on the list is the oil change and then the AC, hopefully i will get it back in a day or two. without owing a fortune!

some bad news tonight. the garage said that after chasing the leak the other day, they thought it was coolant, they changed the oil and drove it for two days and could find no other problems. getting ready to take it to the AC place they discovered a big puddle under it! so i was right it was tranny fluid. and what they have now decided is that the internal pump is pumping it out the vent? so they now have to take the transmission back out and see if they can fix this problem. i am so bummed. one more week to go, still no svx. sigh

Is the tranny overfilled?

Are they sure it's the tranny and not the powersteering lines?

nope the tranny is not overfilled. what they told me tonight was that after driving it a bit over two days they say that all of the growls and taps have settled down and that they still could not get it to leak, just that they could see where it had leaked when i had it. so then when they were getting ready to take it to the AC garage, they left it idling for a minute then put it in reverse and sat there with thier foot on the brake so the car was essentially idling in reverse, then backed it up to leave and noticed that there was a puddle where it had been sitting. upon putting it on the lift it had stopped again, so they started it and put it in reverse and the tranny was pumping fluid out the vent. but it only does it in reverse. so they think it is the pump inside the transmission and that they will have to pull the tranny and replace it (the pump)! ouch!! again with the big bucks for the labor! anyone have any thoughts?
