Rebuilt AC Compressors now available

Just wanted to announce we are starting a program on exchanging nice reconditioned AC compressors. All new seals and bearings with a 1 yr
warranty.
We have to have a core back and the compressor cannot be locked up.
Thats the only stipluation.
Ill have them on the site in a few days. Just wanted to offer a heads up.
Most importantly, make sure whenever you change you compressor have the
whole system CLEANED extremely well before re charging etc. No matter who wo where you get your parts from.

the clutch part of the compressor has to freewheel like normal to be rebuildable....

Can a 92 unit exchange for a R134 type?

You can run R134 in an R12 compressor. You just have to swap out the oil.

I did a complete conversion to my SVX last weekend and I plan on doing an SVX specific writeup with pictures for the SVXipedia. Anyone care to guess exactly how many o-rings need to be changed? (it's more than 6)

Ours you dont have to change the oil, the new oil we use is compatible with both types.

That's right. I was only mentioning it for the people who want to convert their existing R12 compressor to be compatible with R134.

I can't believe I didn't do the conversion sooner. Now when I get out of my car my glasses steam up! My A/C was inactive for almost 3 years!

On the contrary, the A/C comes in quite handy when the temps are over 100°F here.

Plus the A/C is used any time you have the defrost on.

Oh, and for reference we reached 90°F here today.

Hi Dave,

I had the dealer change mine over when I bought it 5 years ago becasue it was leaking. It's been working good up till about last week. I'm thinking maybe the pressure has dropped a little. What o-rings are you speaking of? In the compressor or on the hose fittings and connections?
