Capacitor - n00b question

Alright, I bought a .5 farad Monster Cable capacitor (amp is 400W RMS, so I was told this was the correct size). I understand that the capacitor needs to be grounded and needs to go on the same power wire as the amp. besides that I'm clueless. Should it go closer to the battery or closer to the amplifier? Can I use the same ground as the amp? But most importantly, how the frick do I attach the wires? It's got two screw holes with no apparent way to connect the wires The cap looks kinda like this on top

.5 farad sounds good for a 400 watt amp.
Closer to the amp is the best place to mount a cap.
To connect the wires you will need ring connectors on the ends of the wires and the bolt that goes into the hole on the top of the cap.

If you look closly at this pic of my car you can see the cap on the left with the wires runing to it.

Thanks Beefcake! I thought about that but figured it was way too simple.

Greg - Got it from ebay for $20 shipped. I'm tired of my lights flickering.

The alternator solved the flickering.. caps really don't do anything for that... think of the time it take for a capacitor to charge versus the time it can release energy. for a 1F capacitor it takes maybe a minute to charge, and releases energy in microseconds... bass hits are longer than microseconds... therefor caps = placebo.

How long have you had those low beams in your car? i've heard some bad stories about melted harnesses with that kind of wattage.

I had the lights over a year with no melting, before I upgraded my wireing just to be safe.
