I am booked in to do a 60 mile charity ride next month, so it will have to get wet a few times in training. I have just fitted clipless pedals so I will need to be happy with them before riding with about 1000 others.

OK I understand.
Is the Lee Coogan mid engined and rear wheel drive? Joe

Try a few pints of antifreeze or equivalent down the throttle body, and regular application of friction modifiers on the con rod. That'll help the big end. How's the XT going? What's a typical mpg for it? My brother is awaiting a Forester Turbo from Japan, 98 or 99 model I think.

Sounds like your brother is getting an S-Turbo. A more primative beast but probably well tuned if it is a Jap import. The only disappointment is that Prodrive are not doing an upgrade for my '04 yet. I could do with a little more power.

Why does everyone want to race an SVX? It's a GT. Tell roto-loser to go find a rustang to pick on; until his gaskets blow. The rotory is far more unreliable then any other motor I know of. I have seen some nice tricked out RX-7's in SCC magazine, but they dance a fine line with fuel/air mix and resulting detonation.

I can easily squeal my front tires, and roast them for a good 30ft, and one day, I decided to see what I could really do. I chirped that sucker on a slight incline, but instead of holding it or letting off, I opened up the throttle and just tore up road until I hit second gear (or the awd kicked in, I don't really know) and got launched like a rocket. Never did the rear tires squeal. You have to consider if your torque distribution is working properly, and considering the whp of these things, a slightly modded X will only put 45h per wheel to the ground in low traction conditions. If you are spinning all four, you have to be pushing a lot of power, or heck, abusing the hell out of a 5-speed.
