Yep, one of my friends told me before ... Scion is another name from toyota. (is like toyota->lexus, honda->acura, nissan->infinity) I guess they want to design another version of toyota and target at young people's hearts...

P.S. Taking some of her rebuild pics.

Cool... I like 'em alittle more now... I thought that they were more like a Kia or something...

well i just got home from the scion dealership. i test drove an xA and i was a little disappointed. fit and finish is excellent and it is very quiet and has a very solid feel to it. i guess it should be expected from toyota. however, i could't get used to the center mounted speedo and tach display. also, it was extremely lethargic. my 9 year old geo prizm has more power! i think i have talked myself out of the xA, but i will be going back to test drive the tC on thursday.

My fiancee will more than likely be getting a tC the next time we go car shopping, it is definately the bang for the buck that inspired me to show it to her (instead of making her get a subaru). I live by a Scion dealership so when the tC finally arrives we will give it a drive to make the final decision. Unless I get a huge raise and can afford a Legacy GT Darren

Man it kinda sucks that it is really down on power... Maybe there's gonna be a supercharger or turbo option Doubt it though

The Xa and Xb have a 0-60 of 8.5s with the manual, over 9 sec with the auto. At some point there will definately be an aftermarket turbo/sc available, if there's not one already. But I don't think there's any plans for a factory one.

On another note, I just found out about the TRD lowering springs kit for the Tc, that will lower the car about 1.5", putting it at exactly where I said it should be. Not to sure on the price...

my problem isn't exactly with how fast it can get to sixty, but the excessive downshifting to climb the slightest hill.

I really dig the tC, and I would like to test drive one.

The center-mounted instruments mentioned above aren't surprising - every Scion model so far is based on the Toyota Echo.

Check out >scion.com<. You can "build your car" - all three: the tC, xA, and xB. I understand the "options" will clean out your wallet - very expensive. That's where Toyota will make their money on the car with it having such a low base price.

The supercharger will be only for the tC - available in the near future. This should be a running little car with about 200 HP!

these cars have very few "options" but they have more "accessories" than you can shake a stick at. it's a good thing i'm old and don't care about neon-lighted cupholders.

Those neon-lit cupholders cost $250

...my friend got them in his Xb. I told him I could have done the same thing with $10 in LEDs and a switch from Radio Shack.

just got done installing a blitz supercharger onto a scion xB. Made 132hp to the wheels with 7 psi of boost, its a roots type system. FYI the stock "intake manifold" is plastic!

Cool, good to know Phast .... I stopped by the local Toyota dealer this past weekend and looked in an Xa... I was supprised how nice everything in there was. I mean for a car that is roughly $16,000... I just don't think that I could ever get used to the center gauges... and they didn't have any 5 speeds at the dealer either... I was gonna ask for a test drive but didn't want to driva an auto... ... Well 132hp is pretty good for a little 1.5 liter engine isn't it?? I bet that kinda gives ya alittle more of a kick in the pants

Wait.... THe tC has the center mounted gages as well??? The dealership that I went to didn't have any tC's in stock so I couldn't check...
