Factory Tint On 92 Svx???????????
MY passenger window on my TEAL 1992 SVX was recently smashed and I have to replace it. DOES anyone know if the factory color of the glass is etiher blue or bronze?

Your glass is blue.
All 92s had blue glass with gray interior except the claret/black which had the bronze tint. Attached is a photo of a 1992 Teal SVX

Now if we can just find tint shops in the state of Maryland that can do a good job applying "legal" tint to SVX windows....just spent 2.5 hours at a shop only to have them come out and tell me "we can't do it - the glass has too many curves" (have to give them credit, they did spend the time actually trying to do the job) yak!!!!

Try HP Racing in Glen Burnie. Im taking mine there. Your probubly looking at about $100 to 150 for just the one side. They know the car I took mine in so they know what there getting into. I know a guy that works there and drives a 350z.

what about that electric tint? im into that. flip a switch and...
*click* whats that occifer? i dont have 100% tint on my windows.  it uses small electrodes on either sied of the glass and is like some kind of magic adjustable darkening effect. werd.

Cool concept though. I got a few estimates for my svx... Cheapest I could find was 225 for the entire thing.

Yeah, they gave me a fixed price of $145 - then they found out they couldn't do it (i.e., a quote doesn't carry any weight unless they can actually do the job)

That's the same outfit I sent you the PM about. HP Racing 705 N. Crain Hwy Glen Burnie, MD 410-760-6487 Beware, it's a Ricer's paradise down there. There is enough blue and red anodized aluminum down there to make you sick, not to mention projector headlights/Altezza tail lights for anything that rolls. (There was a Saturn down there with the Altezza tail treatment). We won't even go into the exhaust side of their operation. Don't look around like you're interested. You're just there for the tint remember. If you must look, pay particular attention to the pretty blonde behind the counter with the big... uh... "throttle bodies"?? (Sorta makes Pamela Anderson Lee look like one of the Olsen twins.

Anyway, for those interested, the quote was for $275.00 (remember it has 10 windows= SUV/minivan price.)
They do one piece back windows, microedge the side glass, etc. Not a problem for them I wanted bronze tint so they gave me a piece of the 35% hi-perf film to take home and play with to see if I liked the color etc. I will probably go with the neutral gray instead Maryland law allows a 35% tint so a 35% tint film, in addition to the stock factory tinted glass, might put you over the legal limit if the law wanted to press it. Better to get a 50% tint and be sure to pass.
