Scratchpolish.com
Thanks John
That looks good. Got on the main website above. The plastic polish at $20 for three bottle grades is ideal for our headlights. For anyone interested, I notice they have a polish that will resurface glass. Starter kits at $60 and $90, full kit much dearer. This, assuming it works, might be a handy way to clean the score marks off the driver and passenger windows. Anyone here tried it out?? Joe

Did them while on the car. Used the 3 step procedure (JANVIL) and buffed with a round buffing cloth that goes to a drill. Feels nice n' smooth!!
P.S. Mark, I work for food, not beer! |

your hood
To: JLITTELL
What the heck have you got around the edge of your hood???? Why not use the clearguard poly film: Protects perfectly and you can't see it: that black stuff is anthing but aero and looks weird (I think!!) Richard aka Hotshoe |

I used the glass formula (to remove the ugly window scratches).
It is working but requiers a ton of patience. It is not a 10min procedure. I spent several hours, three days. The result was that the scratches are difficult to see, or only under certain angles. Their "secret receipe" is cerium oxide. This stuff is a pink dust used to polish diamonds. You have to mix it properly with water until is a sort of a " pink mud"...and rub ....and rub ....and rub ...and you got the idea. Cerium oxide is available for less on E-bay. Thanks Stan
I expected as much. Just wanted to know if it was worth trying, or cheaper to replace the panes. In terms of surface hardness [as opposed to brittleness or shattering] glass is right up there close to diamonds. Figured there would be lots of elbow grease involved. Joe
