Re: Favorite double-din stereo?

Nice! That is a pretty huge display. Too bad there is so little room in the dash.

I'd like to see some pictures of that setup.

After much deliberation I decided I didnt need a video screen that I would seldom use and orderd a Clarion CX-501 on E-Bay last week. It should come in next week. I will post a pic after I get it installed. My daughter has also suggested new speakers. I'm not sure I need anything more damaging to my hearing than whats already there.

Re: Favorite double-din stereo?

Eclipse or Kenwood. They are both great.
I prefer Kenwood more, more options, can be hooked to Garmin...

I was looking at the clarion NX-501 its a new promising unit and apparently better than the AVIC.

if ur ever in the oshawa area Marquis, swing by and u can hear the new speakers i put in. they are not expensive for what u get

But that's the thing... With the SVX having a double DINN slot it almost seems a shame to use a system that doesn't take full advantage of the real estate available. I'm sure the Clarion is every bit as great as you describe, but to me it seems just like a stretched out single DINN deck. Small screen, large and few buttons, lots of border space.

Re: Favorite double-din stereo?

I like the Parrot and it's been getting great reviews. Supposed to be among the best for hands-free operation. Crutchfield says it doesn't fit. I know that that sort of thing doesn't normally stop SVXers. Any words of wisdom?
