Re: German Headlights with Leveling Switch

Manual Leveling is B.S.

Its only used when the car is LOADED with weight in the back and in the trunk causeing the cars nose to tilt up.

So how many times have you loaded up your car to the point of needing this?

Once a year when driving to READING?

About 6 times in my laguna since April, once in my silver and once in a buddy's ebony.

It doesn't take much weight to get the nose pointing skyward and it's mainly the glass lenses that everyone is after, the leveling switch is just the gravy on top.

My rear struts are bad. I could have been using these for a couple years now.

Isn't it a lot cheaper just to replace the struts?

Rear struts without installation: $260.00
Glass headlights: $850.00

I briefly considered the glass headlights, but only because I have the polycarbonate factory headlight shields to protect them from stone chips and damage.

(They were in fact designed for the German market to keep the glass headlights from being damaged during high speed, spirited driving on the Autobahn)

Re: German Headlights with Leveling Switch

No one gonna fess up to buying them?

And folks... Germans have junkyards...and private part outs too....just do some googling for european part outs... I picked up my glass lights w/ switch & german shifter for $250 shipped. This is of course abnormally low...

but this was crazy overpriced (sorry).

I did alot of work attempting to make this happen. I got a very impressive list of people committed to buying. dayle was working on getting them refabed. In the end it all fell through. I think the initial estimate was off by like...$200 or some dumb thing
