ball joint and tie rod ends

Hey,
I have a question to people....

Are our ball joints and tie rod ends interchangeable with any other cars? I need new ones and maybe you all know how I can get replacements...

Please let me know!

Re: ball joint and tie rod ends

yes go down to just about any parts store and purchase the parts for your car and install... And don't forget to get a alignment after!

Re: ball joint and tie rod ends

I don't believe they are interchangeable with any other Subies. You might want to PM Hoecrest.

Yeah, Bill is right they aren't interchangeable. And you won't find them at other parts stores.

If he was telling you to PM me about used ones?? don't bother. I have none.

Dave,
Nope, the suggestion was only on the interchangeable question.

Re: ball joint and tie rod ends

Strangely enough, while the tie rod ends are available from parts stores they are cheaper from the dealership.

I ran out of Subaru rear main seals for a 2.2 today, and was calling around for one at local parts stores.
One part store could get it for $53.00!!!!!!
Subaru charges about $10.00.

BTW from Subaru;
the ball joint are part #20220PA000
The inner tie rods are part #34140PA010
The drivers outer rod end is part #34141PA010
The right side outer tie rod end is part #34141PA000

Rear main seals for the svx are about 25 buck from the parts store, like 14 from my dealership and about 8 from subaruparts.com

Advance Auto Parts list, $24.15, actual retail cost $9.49.
Subaru list $11.93 list. ( I usually get 20% off, about $9.54)
SubaruParts.Com price, $9.09, plus $9.95 shipping.

This is one reason why I get all of my seals from Subaru, if its not an emergency.
