awd problem

i have a 92 and i dont believe the awd is working. what could be the problem? the fuse for fwd is not in yet only the front wheels are spinning.

Several issues involving the centre clutch and its activation. Quite a lot to cover. At this point please do a search and if possible come back with specific questions. Time spent in further investigation will be well spent and will serve you well.

how do i check this and see if its engaging?

You have more or less done so by in some way proving that you have only front wheel drive. The rear wheels are driven via the centre clutch. Other possibilities would involve something broken within the drive train, which surely you would have noticed.

fwd

i could see only visualy that only the front tires were spinning when i was stuck in some snow. but if there was something wrong with the drive train wouldnt there be shaking or something while driving?

HMMMMMMM As I have indicated, all you have reported would indicate that it is NOT activating. To be sure, try some more tests on the slippery stuff.
