Just don't use mothers plastic polish... I heard good things, but it did nothing for my headlights.

Hmmmm. Mothers plastic polish doesn't do well on plastic. Mothers mag polish cleans plastic. So, try the plastic polish on your Mags. Whattaya got to lose?

Mothers mag and aluminum polish is available at Auto Zone. It comes in 5 or 10 oz sizes, with a big price break on the 10 oz...the 5 oz runs 5 bucks. A little of this stuff goes along way...

i used a product from a company based in canul fulton ohio called met_all racing polish that i found at big lots for 2 bucks in combination with kit scratch out and it worked pretty damn good. still needs the sandpaper treatment when i get a chance just to remove some scratches but there clear.

Ah..the dreaded headlight cleaner. I use, get this military folks, Brasso !!! Cheap and cheerful and it really works wonders. I was shocked as to how well it works. I tried it out on my 93 BF before I delivered her and WHOA!!! Next my SVX and worked as well. Damn, there are hi-beam AND low beams...and something else.

Just a word of caution, for followers of this thread: if you're not getting yellowing or some other anomoly on your headlights, don't use these products. Make darned sure it's not just dirt and road grime. The headlamps actually have a UV coating on them. The fact that this coating has broken down is what causes the yellowing. If you have "healthy" headlights, you'll actually be taking the coating OFF if you use these products. If your coating is already SOL, it usually shows itself by "flaking" or "peeling" much like your skin, after a sunburn. So, again, check your lights out very closely before applying these products, some of which contain petroleum distillates. Thank you -- that is all.
