Rebuilding the transmission
Hello,
I am looking advice on my 1992 SVX. It has a robbing noise when I accelerate and when I brake. Subaru said that I have to rebuild the transmission. They said something about bearing transmission and that is going to cost me $3,265. What do you guys think? Is this a reasonable price for that? Or no? I will really appreciate your comments or suggestions. Thanks!

I would get a second opinion from another dealership/garage.
We would need more information to even attempt to diagnose this issue correctly. The noise could be the transmission, exhaust, mounts, axles, engine...almost anything.

Is the tranny storing a troublecode? Is the power light giving its hair raising 16 blinks at start up?

Nah. I had 2 Sube rebuilds done on warranty, about 2400. each they charged Sube for.
Shop around.
