introducing myself
Greetings, just wanted to say hello, and say that this site is great. Been driving lots of cars since 1965, many sports cars (3 triumphs, 2 jaguars, a porsche, other cars, around 8 motorcycles (currently chopping a '73 Triumph)
last, a Pathfinder, and NOW, a '96 SVX, and I LOVE IT. Rebuilt, and worked on several of these. I'll apologize in advance if I get mixed up with this site. I have not yet figured out how I can get logged in at home, as well as work. I'm using my work PC for the cookies and Email, since i sometimes get a better chance to participate from here. Also haven't figured out how to get on the chat channel from work though. Anyway, i hope to be helpful if I can, and not ask too many questions. I will post my first one in the tech forum, next. You guys have already helped me through the FWD fuse thing, and not having AWD. No idea why the fuse was in, but the car goes wherever I want it to now. Being in CO, I've had some great opportunities to check this out. Replaced both rear bearings already, but with Dunlop Sport SP 5000s it's nice and quiet now. |

Looking at the list of cars you have driven and then to say the SVX is the best That is impressive. What a surprise that is to me. Was the Porche in bad shape or something else?

thanks for the welcomes
Thanks for the welcomes. Look forward to talking to many of you more.
Mike; I have registered my SVX yesterday. Thanks for the reminder svx_commuter; I'm a car buff, who enjoyed all my cars. My first was a '62 A-H Sprite, that I picked up as a basket case for $300. My Jaguar XK-150 I got for around $700. I also had a 3.8 liter XKE later. Loved that car. The Porsche was a 356 / 1600, that I drove all over Europe. I've had lots more cars than I listed. Back in the 60s-70s sports cars weren't at premium prices, but I'll always go for a good used car over what new priced cars are nowadays. When my Porsche lost reverse, and I couldn't afford getting the tranny fixed, then it got replaced with a TR4A. Just got the SVX a 4 wheel alignment this morning. It wasn't off that much, but it's even better driving it now !! |

Welcome Pete
our Chairman Randy is an ex Triumph Spitfire driver, so you will have some common ground to explore. Some.
Never warmed to Spitfires, but they are sporty looking. For me the TR5 is the pick of the Triumph family. Enjoy the SVX, it is a lovely drive if you care for it. Nice bunch of folks on the Network too. Joe

Welcom Pete
You will find that this is a great group of people. We all need help once in a while (some more than others) and can also help others from time to time. Enjoy the car. We all do!!! Good luck.
