stop lamp checker

Hi,

where his the stop lamp checker relay? I want to check if it's the relay that cause my stop lamp warning dash light to come up.

P.S. I've already change the two bulbs.

Supposedly the "stop Lamp" comes on when you burn out 1 bulb and stays lit. However, if you burn out a second bulb, the "Stop Lamp" goes out.

A common problem is the stop lamp checker relay. This is located in the right side in the trunk, behind the carpeted panel, in front of the washer fluid reservoir. The design and mounting is such that if water gets into this area the checker relay acts as a reservoir to collect and hold water. This was my problem.

Relay replacement is a simple 1 plug/1 screw operation. Part No. 88081PA000 Cost of the part is about $33.00

You can also bypass the relay by cutting into the B99 connector inside the passenger's side kick panel. (But iI haven't a clue where this is) According to the FSM

I've got another question. I've look into the kick panel fuse box and didn't find any mention of the b99 connector. Am I looking at the right place?
