Man, I was gonna scan the pic from the FSM, but, my scanner is kaput! Does someone else have the pic from the FSM?

That's the top of the engine near the throttle body on the driver's side. There's 2 sensors there...you can't miss them.

I had the same problem this past winter with my car cranking but not starting. After asking around someone told me that the solenoid in the starter was just not engaging, (I have been told that this is a common problem for subarus).

If the engine cranks then the solenoid is working.
I was probably one of the first to have the problem with the temperature sensor. After I resolved the problem everyone else started having the same problem.

thanks for all the help guys
i fixed it to day, took about 2 minutes to change, and about 15 minutes to find a socket that fit it. but then it was smooth sailing, but now the car starts and runs good but on my way home from a drive today apparently the sensor that senses when the glove box is closed broke, and the light is just on perpetually now
