I had done the same, two hats, one for me and one for my sidekick son. I was going to attach it to his gift for his birthday, which is June 16th.
 Okay, I spent some time in the Navy, I will cross my fingers for a good sailor, and call him shipmate once I have my hats.

Got a response!
Well I got a response back from Bev Beasley, Johnny's mom.
She said he is still in boot camp but they will see him June 27th. Not sure if he'll be back then or if it is just a family visit. Either way she said she may be able to make the order around the 1st of July. She did say the company had raised the prices but she thought the money we had paid will cover our hats. She wanted me to let you all know that he will not be running off with our money, there is still every intention of getting us our hats, sorry for the delay. I'm pretty confident we will not lose our money and will see hats at some point, but I'm still not excited about the long delay after paying in full. Oh well, at least I feel a little better about this.

In all fairness, it did take him a while to get the money collected, so he ended up cutting it too close for when he was leaving for boot, plus after finally getting the money collected, then finding out the prices had changed. I am guessing he originally thought he would have it all done long before then.
I'm sure he hated to leave with it not being completed. I am confident he will get it all sorted out and our hats to us when he is home. I hope he was able to get the pricing he was planning on.
