Dash light

I have a question. Looking at your dashboard at night with your lights on, in the top left corner, there is the small image of the car, and the ATF warning light is contained within that small circle. Should that little car, or its circle light up? I just realized that it has NEVER been lit up since I bought my SVX a year ago, and I geuss I dont know if the bulb is burnt out, or if that particular circle doesnt light up for osme reason.

Also, I found in my glvoebox on the top that there is an elastic strap going across the top. I had never noticed that before. Anyone find any partuclarly good use for it?
