trouble with new SVX remote

I just purchased a NOS oem svx keyless entry remote....

The original battery inside was a bit corroded, but not to bad. I replaced it.

Tried to do the programming but it has not worked...

I can get the car into programming mode easily, but when I press the remote 4 times it doesn't seem to have any affect on the car.

Re: trouble with new SVX remote

Once in programming mode, the parking lights should flash with each press of the button. They illuminate when the button is pressed and goes out when the button is released.

A total of four times

Re: trouble with new SVX remote

That's how I read that too. Not totally sure though. I need to try this.

I just got this SVX a few months ago and it came with a (very worn) remote. I put a new A23 battery in it but got nothing. Didn't know about this programming bit though.

The car also came with a couple of generic remotes too - I wonder if it'll work on those?
