drivetrain conversion questions

My car was converted from FWD to AWD by previous owner . It has the 4:41 drivetrain out of a 1998 ish Outback ( I presume ) . The guy I bought it from had no clue about any of the technicals, and no paperwork . So my questions - would the axles ( front and rear ) be SVX or Outback ? Is the Outback transmission as prone to overheating as the one it is replacing , or do the 4:41 gears mean the transmission is not working so hard ? Thanks, Kelly
