Thanks for asking. Yes She and her two daughters were fine. The semi spun her around into the car behind her. No one was hurt and the semi got away. Insurance gave me 1700 for the GL, not bad for a car with 189,000 miles on the ticker.

I'm with Rufus. Pampered garage machine. Completely stock. Beautiful. I drive my '91 Loyale wagon (beater) to work. And Rufus, I seem to remember Richard Brautigan from college many, many years ago. I seem to remember a book, "Loading Mercury With A Pitchfork". Man that was a long time ago. During my Casteneda/Don Juan days.

Mine's a daily driver.

The last car I had was a VW Golf Diesel that I put on 25k miles a year. Great mileage, but you can imagine the fun factor with 75hp (I think my neighbour's lawnmower had more ).

I *thought* I would be driving less with a job change, but nope, still the same mileage. Put on 22k in the last year on the SVX, plus another 4k on a 2000 Legacy GT.

For those saving their car, one word of advice from my girlfriends' neighbour. He had a gorgeous Alfa Romeo Spyder, rarely driven. One day, as he was driving it, some bonehead crashed into him, and the Spyder was totalled.

The only thing he regretted about the car was not driving it and ENJOYING it more than he had.

We all know we have a great car. Enjoy it while you can.

And if something breaks, the 92's are dirt cheap now, aren't they? It's almost like computer parts; if it breaks, just replace it!

I'm astonished to see that the majority of us (or those who've voted) use their SVX as a daily commuter. I do myself, although from the various posts I've read, it seems as if most members drive second vehicles.

Davie,

I clicked on the poll. I could not find a way to vote so I'll just give my answeres here.

I use my 92 SVX Pearly for my daily commuter. It's one heck of a beater.

I use my 97 Bordeaux Pearl SVX as a weekend fun car, to go to SVX meets, and to go to upscale events (car shows, dinner with the DuPonts , etc.). [Really Larry, I'll call to Herr Hermann in Stutgart. He can have your car taken about at the factory. Then they will build an M-B version of it. I think that it should be called the MBX.. Don't worry they will put your car back together correctly]
