Any one seen one of these?

I was at a car show last night. A guy had this car there. Said it was from down under!

A Holden. GM operation down under.

His looks like a rebadged Pontiac G8 (to a Holden Commodore). He rebadged his Pontiac to look like the Australian Commodore. Giveaway is that it is LHD.

Also the last Pontiac GTO was a rebadged Holden Monaro.

Re: Any one seen one of these?

The Holden Commodore was sold here as the Pontiac G8, now sold as the Chevrolet SS.

Re: Any one seen one of these?

The latest GTO and SS are not available in The Great White North. I guess it wasn't worth the time and money to pass Canadian regulations for the very few which would have been sold here.

Re: Any one seen one of these?

I had no idea they were now selling it as the Chevy SS. Pretty cool car but my pockets are not nearly that deep. Out of the 3 the Holden has the best looking front end.

Say he paid $22,000 for it, it is an 09. That's not a lot? My 2010 Honda was more than that 2 years ago. I no one thing that is one quiet motor. I wish I could post the video.

Re: Any one seen one of these?

I am saddened to have read that GM is ending production of the Holden. One of the bright spots of rear wheel drive V8 automobiles that we, in the USA, could enjoy in a rebadged version. I hope it isn't true or that GM will reconsider.

Re: Any one seen one of these?

We are also losing the ford falcon, in Australia there has been a passionate divide between ford and Holden fans of the commodore and the falcon, a passion that is fought out on the race track with the v8 supercars. We are losing a piece of our v8 cultural history and it saddens me

This was my dance with it
