Re: exhaust work (need help)

I would suggest at least putting some Aero AR20 resonators in place of the pre-cats. Also, just putting a cherry bomb on instead a true muffler is not going to sound good under any amount of throttle. It may sound nice at idle but you will hate how it sounds under throttle.

I see. Well, if you remove the pre-cats, I can't say for sure if it will throw a SEL but its not going to add any performance. You will want to make sure to keep the resonator between the main cat and the muffler as removing it results in a very annoying sound above 2000 rpm. As for dealing with the muffler, you could always look into replacing it with a muffler from the last gen camaros/firebirds (not the new one). It will take some modification to the piping but will give it better sound and slightly better flow. Hope that helps a little.

1) The SVX is not a low budget car.

2) Leave the cats alone. (meow)

3) Remove the muffler, replace with two smaller chambers, either resonators or mufflers in a V config. Should sound ok whilst not deafening you on long rides (or you can go the Camaro route but I don't see the point).

Re: exhaust work (need help)

i know the svx is not a low budget car but there is always a cheaper way to do something without compromising build quality. i just want the best sounding, cheap exhaust i can make or find.

Re: exhaust work (need help)

Such a creature exists? I suppose you could run a Magnaflow 94007 backwards... But you'll have to make a y-pipe of some sort either way, either to join before the cat or to split after it. Unless you go with a dual in/dual out cat, but then you've basically got a dual system.

Re: exhaust work (need help)

i saw a cherry bomb extreme series muffler at the auto parts store that was dual in and dual out. that seems like it would be the easiest way to do it. i just want it to sound like this.
