I had never seen this thread until svxistentialist mentioned it and I looked for it. It brings to mind a funny (kind of) story.....

My brother-in-law, a staunch "buy U.S." kind of guy (although I'm sure he's aware most U.S. made cars AREN'T...) has always bought and driven the standard U.S. models (Ford or Chevy trucks, Mopar or GM cars, etc.)

His Durango lost a wheel bearing on the way back from the beach and since he was only about 60 miles away, I brought him my Silver Bullet to drive the rest of the way home in and keep until his car could be fixed. As we were driving to my house, he glanced at the odometer and saw the first 3 digits were 173. He asked me " is that 117,000 miles on this?" and I replied, without blinking an eye "No, it's 173,000." I guess it never occured to him that our odometers had 6 digits even back in 1992! (Because they EXPECTED it to go over 100,000 miles!)

I just thought that was humorous.

By the way, he was a truck mechanic for years. But then again, he probably didn't see many with 173,000 miles on them.

BTW, I'm over 180,000 now. (the car, that is). Give me another 6-8 months and I'll be joining the "club".

I'm of the opinion that we should extend this list to include cars that have covered more than 150K.

Now I know that the number of cars will probably go up exponentially, but 150K is serious mileage, so I reckon it would highlight just how good and reliable our cars actually are.

Damn I'm still doing good. My car has 127k and 144k on the one my dad wrecked and if I buy this third one it only has 75k

I'm no where near y'all in mileage but I am catching up fast. I bought my SVX 9/26/07 with 106k on the odometer. This week it will turn 118k. Give me a "few" more months and I will be in your 200k club

I will, only its Kilometers. When I'm looking at posts, I have to keep remembering you guys are talking miles, so only 123,000 for me.
My son always rolls his eyes at me, as I was raised with miles, and still ask "How many miles you put on her tonight?", "Its 65 miles to Duncan.", "How many miles are we getting per gallon?". (and ya, its not gallons, its litres )
