NH Sighting!!

Well I walked out of the graphics labs after class this morning and saw the ass-end of a pearly sitting right in front of me in the parking lot.. wow!! "Whose SVX is that??" I said aloud. "It's mine," came the reply from behind me. Turns out it belongs to a woman who graduated Franklin Pierce a year or two ago and she's just back to take a couple classes. Cool. I couldn't tell what year it was, but just assumed it was a '92 based on the condition. It had 80 thousand miles on it (she called it a high-mileage car.. hah. I'd like to introduce her to Jay's car) and was in ROTTEN shape.. the interior was SO messy and dirty I almost cried. Rust spots littered the exterior. However I have a new favorite color: pearlwhite with black roof. It's exquisite, ESPECIALLY without a spoiler. I really like the way the lines look with those particular paint colors.. mmm

RUST???

This car should NOT rust unless it has been in an accident or scratched very deeply.

Graphics lab? Where do you go to school, and what for?

I go to school at Franklin Pierce College in Rindge, NH for Graphic Communications..

Good for you

It's such a rare opportunity to actually stumble upon an 'owner'.

Of the few/many I've seen I've never seen any rust. I like to know WHERE a car rusts so I can be extra vigilant with my oil application.

This year I WILL be spraying oil inside the body panels of both of my Subarus. I was supposed to do it last year.

As I said, they're not *supposed* to rust. They typically do if they've been in an accident or had serious paint work due to a scratch, but I've never seen an unmolested SVX rust.

Hey,
I'm in Leominster remember? Like 10minutes as well. I'll be on Rt 2 in about 20 minutes as I am everyday.

Are you going to the Webster meet?

Rt 2 in 20 mins? Yea, I'd do the same, but I can't stand the commute home on that road. I work in Lexington, but I've managed to seek out some nifty backroads to get home without the stop 'n go. Besides, some of those ppl on rt. 2 get me nervous, especially around the areas where you can't see stopped traffic over a hill, and someone in an F350 realizes last second that you're stopped and he's goin 55...

Yep, that was about the point I decided there was a better way.

Speaking of which (this I mentioned in another thread)...have you ever used North End Subaru in Lunenburg for service?

Dang

I was out on Friday and missed out on the local chat. Glad to hear we're all here.

I look forward to seeing you all in Webstah. I'll be sure to add Salk to my personal list.

Yes, I DO remember Rt. 2 (inside of 495) when I was working in Woburn. I work up in Haverhill now. The area on Rt 2 inside of the Concord rotary is "accidents waiting to happen" all over the place.

I bought our Forester in Lunenburg, and they've occationally worked on it. They haved served us well on the Forester, but I don't think I'd bring my SVX there. When I first needed service on the SVX I called and drove around to see if there seemed to be a better place than Nashua where I bought it.

The guys at Lunenburg admitted that "they don't get too many of those to work on" and they didn't have much experience with them. Honest at least.

When I pulled into the Concord Subaru, a mechanic came out, looked at my car, and with a disgusted look on his face grumbled out "what's wrong with THIS one?" to which I replied nothing and got back in. I was going to ask them for a quote on my (then needed) 30K fluid changes. I noticed that there was a red SVX parked on a hill on the grass outside the place.

For the SVX I've been VERY happy with the knowledgeable guys at Nashua.
