5/6 speed kits for sale

Well after some thought and finding there to be reasonable interest, I am producing the 5/6mt kits. These kits will be made to order so I will need time to actually make the parts once you have placed the order. Detailed instructions will be included with the purchase. By then end of the week I will have them drawn up and I will post them here. Below are pictures of parts that will be included in the kit. I am also willing to sell parts individually for those interested.

X-member $150 + $75 core

Pedals (brake/clutch/gas) $150 + $30 core for gas pedal

Shift linkage $100

Brake booster $20 + $50 core

Looks good Tom. Might be putting in an order in a couple months. Is the brake booster needed or jsut an option?

Good Work!!!

Please include exactly what you are needing as far as 'core' parts. I'm pretty sure I can figure out most of the SVX parts. When I start scavenging other Subaru parts, I want to make sure I get the correct ones.

Thanks Again,
Dan

The booster is an option. It is not too hard to do but for those looking to keep is simple, I can provide the service for them.

Core parts are as follows
Xmember- Auto X-member and cross brace
Pedals- SVX gas and brake pedal boxes
Linkage- Standard(manual) shift linkage
Brake booster- SVX brake booster

A few advantages of this kit over the small-car kit are listed below
+ Costs less
+ No welding required
+ If a problem does arise, I will work with you to my best to get it settled peacefully
+ Known to hold up under very tough conditions(I and others who have had me convert their cars have beat them silly and my parts are known to hold up under the most abusive conditions, even a stage 3 supercharged car powershifting )

Downsides
- The kit's components may need some grinding for perfect alignment of bolt holes. For those of you familiar with welding will know what I mean when I say, metal shrinks after welding.
- Does not yet incude parts like the transmission, rear differential, driveshaft, clutch, master/slave cylinder, flywheel, flywheel bolts, starter, etc... A complete parts list will be available when I wrtie up some instructions.

Must start saving. I'll be conntacting you once I get money and parts.

How long would you say it takes to swap the auto out for a wrx 5 speed? With all the parts inhand and ready to go.

I would say 4 days at least for some who has done it before and knows the steps and shortcuts.

Looks gr8. I am already thinking of going for 6mt as soon as I find a good deal on the used one. Anyway to be clear, by N/A(n/a) you mean stock (i.e. stock ones). right??

Excellent!

Ok, this is awesome. This will save me a lot of trouble (probably).

I have a few questions though. Forgive me if I'm asking something retarded, but I have little experience with this sort of thing. How does this "core charge" thing work? I pay the price + core, then get the core charge back when I've sent you my old parts?

Also, what is the brake booster needed for? Does it improve clamping force of the calipers or something?

N/A means not applicable

yes thats how the core works. the brake booster modification is needed to work with the new pedal box as it is closer to the firewall

How about a 'package deal' for ordering all the parts at once?

Also, how does the metal you're using underbody hold up to road salt?

Ok Tom, you said the brake booster was an option and not "needed" for the swap, but I just read in another part of the thread it is needed. Just some clarification would be awesome. Going, junk yard surfing next week for some parts.

The pakage deal is a great idea.

Can you seperate the parts list for 5/6mt into 2 sections so that one section will be having all the parts that doesnt need any modifications to be done (which are right bolt on into our svx, like tranny starter etc) and the other section with those that need modifications (like x-member, pedal system etc) and that we can order from you.

thanks,
-Pavan.

umm... it already is seperated...

Gest24, the booster out of an imprezza will work as long as it is for a hydro clutching 5mt. Or you can cut and die the SVX booster to the correct length to work with the new pedal assembly.
