Which looks better?

I want to know what color scheme to use for my web site. I have both schemes available here:

1. Pearl/Polo
http://dcss.dyn.dhs.org/svxiw/

2. Silver/Ebony
http://dcss.dyn.dhs.org/svxiw2/

I vote for none of your color combinations.
I think you should try pearl/ebony.

I'm partial to the pearl & black combination on the SVX.
Think of how great you look in a black tuxedo with a white shirt.
Especially if you use black studs and cuff links.

I vote for a dark background and light letters. You don't stare at lightbulbs all day but it seems most people like to make webpages with white backgrounds so it is like you are staring into the sun looking at it.

What colors would you suggest? I can modify the site to use any colors rather easily.

I like the way dark background/light text looks, but I find it seriously irritating to read. If there's more info than navigation, I usually turn the "display web page colors" off. I combat the "lightbulb" effect of a light background by keeping my monitor's luminosity at a comfortably low level.

No, kinda exactly the opposite.
I visit other forums with a dark blue background, white letters. My eyes don't tend to dry out while I'm reading those.

I have to squint or turn down the brightness for this forum, but then pictures and movies look messed up.

Question: Do you read books? They seem to like to go with the good old fashioned black on white color scheme

BTW I've changed the color scheme to the ebony on silver now. I've also added another image to the front page.

I meant a white background and black text, because that is the most legible.

Most military aircraft gages are black background with white numbers, because that is the most legible.
Most indutrial pressure gages, thermometer gages, etc. are white blackground with black numbers., because that combination is the most legible.

I've been poking around on your site- excellent job!!

It did raise a couple of questions, though.

In the FAQ section 4.4.2 regarding manual transmissions the site states: "The '99 and later trannys use an 8-bolt engine mount so they will not work." I also note that your car has a 2002 WRX 5-speed- What gives?

Also, in section 1.3.3 regarding turbos you state: "Since I can write extensively on the subject of turbos, I won't." What's that? Pleeeease go ahead and elaborate. Some qualified discussion of turbos and particularly twin turbos would be most welcome!
