It certainly can be. The balancing in the game is total crap - I actually have to handicap myself all the time, only because I want an actual challenge. The AI is blind and retarded (Ooh! Even though you're lapping me, I'm still going to run you off the course like we're fighting for position!).

The only real balancing in GT2 was the horsepower restrictions for each class, but then they took that out for GT3. I have no idea why, because now you can take a rip-tuned car against something totally stock.

You can also drive like a total bonehead and get away with it. Thankfully, I have heard that GT4 will include penalties for hitting other cars or walls. Avoiding other cars and obstacles will also be part of the license tests.

i used the Skyline, and a few times after no success with it, i'd switch to the RX-7 and win instantly. if a race is really giving you trouble, go take your performance mods back to stock (keep suspension mods). the other cars will do the same, so its still even, but not as insane.

the final race is VERY hard - all i can say is try to take out the other guy as soon and as often as possible - PLAY DIRTY!!!

I'm at race #93 I think. I seem to do good with the Skyline and the RSX. I haven't tried the RX-7 yet. I'm hoping to get to the end. And it was ALL without Gameshark! I only use that when I play for awhile and want to get a specific car or item. That's why I didn't know it had changed.

I always tried to limit myself to a car that I thought would still have some competition, I do the same when racing others. The only exception was the indurance races, the faster the car the less percentage of my day I needed to use up

I think the best race in GT3 was the stock Miata endurance race. It really teaches you to drive the course and not just power your way past everyone. Other than that I use that F1 type car for all the other endurance races. My Toyota GT1 road car is the best at the oval test track, tops out at 235mph but will hit 238mph if I'm drifting with the Toyota GT1 race car.

Of course it's been so long since I played, the last time I got my ass kicked in the beginner RWD race , I was useing the full race GM Corvette I sucked.

The Miata race was actually one of the easiest ones. You just needed to get the Miata with the most hp (LS?) and change the oil for a lil hp boost, as long as you don't spin out you win.

I got my escudo pikes peak version up to 277 mph. I put the highest turbo on it and its up to 1700+ hp. I dont like it much because it doesnt turn. I like my F686/M. I have 2500 miles on it, which i think is amazing. All i do is endurance races, I dunno how i can stand them though. I have about 4 million dollars right now, so the game is getting purty boring now, I guess I have to wait for GT4, which I heard at EBgames is coming out april 1st. It will be nice to race trucks in that game.

I've tried to get the Escudo above 300mph and I've gotten really close. After much tweaking of the gear ratios I got it to 298.something.

Yeah, I dig the F686/M, too. I'm doing the Formula GT championship with the F090/S and, now that I'm at the 8th race, I'm so far down on power I have a hard time keeping up. I just did the Apricot Hill race and had to make an extra pit stop, so I only won it in the last two or three corners. If I take a trip through the gravel throughout the race, my race is pretty much over.

All my races have gold cups next to them... The only thing that I could think of is the fact that some of my license tests wern't gold... Anyone care to comment and point me in the right direction??? I was told by a friend that the list above was prerelease, and that there are a lot less cars in GT4 than they first announced.

Heres hoping my friends are wrong or the SVX stays in. (for fun, not for performance

If the SVX is in it, make sure the first upgrade you do to it is getting a full racing transmission.

I'm pretty sure that, in order to nail 100% complete, you have to get all golds in all the license tests. Don't you have to do the arcade mode races, too?

There's another thing I hope they improve in GT4 - the 2-player racing. In all current versions of GT, you have to use the cars as they are. So if you leave dirt tires on a car, but you and a friend want to use it on pavement, you have to go into sim mode, change the tires, and go back to 2 player mode. Ick.

Hehee, naa the first upgrade that I'm gonna do is do a 5 MT swap and make the ratios exactly the same as the ones in my tranny now... Then I'm gonna make the spring rates exactly the same as on the suspension kit I'm getting... I'm gonna make it as close to my car as possible... That way if I ever have the urge to drive fast I can do it there and not on the real road...
