Unhappy Opps!

Well, I just beat one of those four letter words on the highway the other night and I just wanted to know what I was up against. I knew it wasn't much, but still I had to know.

I can see why you hate them so.

Your SVX mod's sound pretty cool. Still, I hope I never need one.

I'm glad you didn't slow down either!!!!! Knock -em Dead!

Thumbs up Hand controls!

We used to have a set of hand controls on our old Dodge Rampage - sounds similar to the set-up you're describing. It was put in the car for my wife, but I probably drove it 95% of the time, usually with the hand controls!
It also forced me to adopt the "left foot braking" technique, since the bar or rod that was connected to the brake pedal interfered with the right foot.
I'll have to check it out in April! (you are going to the Smokey Mtn. Meet?)

Well, I can see how you might have a bad taste in your mouth for Ford products. Sorry to hear about it.

Note to Jerry: Yes, he will be at the meet in April.

Making reservations

Yes, you should get that done ASAP. The block reservation at the Garden Plaza will expire on March 30. After that, you might or might not be able to get the special meet rate. Call 1 800 3 GARDEN and ask for the Subaru SVX meet rate. Tell them you need a chair accessible room. If you can't get what you need there, I've posted a list of other facilties in the Springtime in the Smokies thread. You are coming to the Friday evening reception, aren't you? I need to start sending out directions on how to get there.

And, I'll have to caution you about letting humor creep into your posts. I'll have you know, this is the most serious, sober and straight-laced group you're ever likely to encounter. Especially that guy in KY.

Ah, yes, the inmates have taken over the asylum.

For some reason, I find myself wanting an audio clip of the "Woody Woodpecker" theme song.......

. . . and so begins another never-ending loop of an old childhood song!

Geometry lesson

Volume of a container equals its base times its height. Easy with square bases, harder with round and triangle bases. I have seen many people confuse the equation for circumference with the one for area when it comes to rounds. Circumference is 2x3.14xRadius 2 X Pi X r. Surface is Pi(r squared). Volume of a round prism (I believe it is called) is; Pi(r squared)xHeight. Volume of a tapered round prism you ask? Pi(r squared)xHeightx/3. A tapered crescent????? Now my head is starting to hurt.

And no, I didn't learn this as part of my BA degree.

Hmmm . . . interesting theory, lightening. However, it still doesn't explain what's in a can of SPAM

Spam?

Jerry,

It's like hot dogs, ya don't WANT to know. I was once told S.P.A.M. was made from "pork shoulder". If that's true then a case could be made for the product based on the "living high on the hog" saying. Once upon a time if you were "well to do" you could afford the better cuts of meat from the butcher shop. The better cuts on a pig come from "higher up" on the animal. So, if you hold a pig right side up then the shoulder would be "higher up" unlike the feet (hocks) that us "poor" Germans are forced to eat. But looking at pig anatomy the ears and jowls are "high up" too. Like I said Jerry, ya don't want to know. Just fry it up with some taters.

Lesson on Volume

1. It usually only goes to 10
2. Wives seem to hate Surround Sound
3. Pie are not squared
