Headlight cleaning (inside)
Hi folks
On the inside of the headlight it has a light grey coat. I cleaned this before 2 years with spray, but it comes fast back. In the garage they say, no chance to clean, I have to buy new headlights. Bad answer, one headlight costs here in Switzerland SFr. 750.-- (570 US$) without mounting. Seraph has a good manual on his homepage for clean them. So I try it yesterday and it worked great. In Europe, our headlights are from glass, so I only had to clean it inside with normal windowcleaner. I need for all together around 2 hours and saved more then SFr. 1'500.--. Hi Peter
Yes, I put them in oven. I set it on 150 ° till 170 ° (normal mode, not hot air). Then take it out and carefully open it. If it doesn't go, put it again inside. Be carefull, that the glue come not on the lense, reflector etc. After open it, let it cool down and use the window cleaner, till you are satisfied. For build together, put both parts again in the oven, press together and mount the clips. If you want, you can also use silicon, that it's 100 % waterproof. Here one picture from the lamp in parts. If you have any question more, just write or email me: svx@freesurf.ch Kusi |

Hi Peter
Aprox 10 minutes for open. Make first try, if it's doesn't go, put it again inside. You have to use a littlebit force, that's normal. Good luck Kusi |

No, it doesn't happen nothing. For 100 % be sure, don't go over 170 °.
Take behind everthing away (bulbs, cover). The motor for adjusting the distance (switch 1-2-3) I let it inside, nothing happend. Under the hood it can become very hot, so, the material must hold with this temperature. Only set the oven on normal hotness (NOT hot air, grill etc.). Kusi |
