Lightbulb Dash Light issues

The lights on the bottom of the dash stay on when the car starts and tend to fade in and out then shut off completely, the 'FWD' light is on as well. None of the lights seem to be effecting the driving or vice versa. Has anyone experienced similar problems? If so lemme know, thanks.

I suspect you have 2 problems. The first is your alternator is going bad (this causes the lights along the bottom to illuminate) The second is your FWD fuse is probably in place in the fuse panel under the hood. The best idea would be to check that.

I'm wondering if the FWD fuse was put in for a reason???

(different sized tires? Legacy tranny? failing TCU? failing AWD?)

Wait... how long have you had this car? How long has the FWD light been on?

fuse removed, light gone. I"m about to buy it from someone tonight. I'm assuming the guy who replaced the trasmission left it in when he replaced the tranny for whatever reason. Diagnostics maybe? i donno.

You dont want a car that has had the fwd fuse in it for that long. That is only to be used for very short periods of time (like running on the spare tire, or at a emissions dyno.) Stay away from that car. (It is also very fishy that the fuse was in it... seems like they're trying to cover up something.)
