A 6-sp A6? As far as I know all A6's have autos. In addition the 2nd gen A6 option is the same engine as the S4, the 2.7L V6 twin turbo.

I just rode in my friend's new 370z automatic. The shifts didn't seem that slow? Maybe the nissan has harder shifting algorithms than the G37 counterpart?

Audi of Nashua.. You cant just show up though and say "Can I drive it, please, please, please?" You need to call ahead and talk to a salesperson, know what you are talking about, and then show up in relatively professional garb... I know it is a bit of a show and a dance that is put on, but hey, I have been able to drive some pretty nice cars that very few other, non-trust fund baby, 23 year old would have been able to.....

A very good friend of mine is the head sales guy at a Porsche/Audi/Mercedes dealership. He gave me the keys to a 2006 C2S, but I declined and let him drive it. It was on sale for "only" $78k and I wasn't looking forward to making that payment if something happened. I was going to "borrow" a bright red S4 sedan for the weekend, but the wife vetoed that one.

How? Same engine, same tranny... but G37 is a luxury car compared to the 370z. So it is heavier...

If both cars are automatic, maybe you can feel the added weight of the G37 but I don't think they are very very different...

The 2.7t a6 was available in a 6 speed, and it was pretty popular. They're not difficult to find. The 2.8 A6 was available with a 5 speed in 2000 only, also. Those are VERY difficult to find.

I did not know that!
I have a hard time believing a S5 could be anything short of jizz inspiring personally - but then again I've never driven one. One of the coolest looking cars ever.

Re: S5 = huge disappointment

Sort of off subject, but I drove my friends stepdad's APR stage 3 B5 S4 last weekend. AMAAAAAZING! Holy buttloads of power batman! Pardon the expression, but that car is RETARDED fast! Brake boosting that thing at 60 felt like launching in any other car from a standstill! Sooo much power, lol.

And that's too bad about the S5. A friend of mine was a mechanic at a local Audi dealer and he did the pre-sales inspection on one and then drove it, and he absolutely loved the thing. He met up with me randomly, and I thought it was pretty sweet too. It had the weirdest sounding v-8 I've ever heard though!

Not a total waste.. I go with a couple friends.. One who has purchased a S4 and the other who is now the proud owner of a 335xi after a few of these said test drives.. My turn is coming, but I have student loans to finish off first....

I drove the G37X which is AWD so it absolutely does not have the same tranny as in the 370Z. It has a longer wheelbase too and is an all around totally different car in all aspects
