A Note about benebob

I am glad you find it funny. You would not believe how many man hours have gone into this problem so far, and it is not even over yet. Problems like this take all of the fun out of this place for me as well as the other staff. I love it when there is nothing to do except read the posts and have fun with the rest of the members. That has been the problem when there are major battles, members start to decide they want to go or not hang out any more. We do not want to have this happen. When we have to deal with things like this, it cuts down on the time we could be doing something else like getting the new server up and the new software set up. It is a major negative for everybody.

And for what it is worth many folks who don't know what it is like to be a mod need to understand that it does take a lot of time when you have a board with a lot of traffic etc.

I have pretty well kept up with it for a long time. I do agree that Jason stepped over the line in his REACTIONS. However, I have seen repeated sniping at his mechanical expertise and attempts at doing business. That is hitting a man where he lives and makes money. To me that is MUCH more serious than overracting to the initial and repeated insults. As near as I can tell, the snide comments on his mechanical expertise are unsupported. AND, IF as Jason alleges, certain parties were actually contacting his customers bad mouthing him---that should be strongly considered as grounds for banning. Again--I question the balance on the scales.

I respect your view Lee, and so I am sure do the rest of the Mods.

There may be background stuff going on we are unaware of, but that is moot anyway. We can only really react to and vote sanctions based on what happened HERE, what was said HERE. What Network rules were broken HERE.

And in that respect I genuinely feel that no member on this board should take the view that because they perceive they are defending something precious to them, that this gives them license to over-react as you suggest, and bring the tone of the conversation down to gutter levels.

Best advice I can offer; if you are an angry type person, and you are feeling angry, don't post on the Network while angry.

Sleep on it and post a more considered reply tomorrow. Or better still, take your battles private. The rest of the universe don't need to know or care how much of a hard man you are.

Benebob from a Network standpoint is first offense. If the rule breaking carries on after time-out, be assured the scales will balance up.
