Rich Chen's SVX
Reached out to Rich Chen who bought my '94 emerald pearl a couple of years ago. Car is still running well. One of the Rota's cracked, and he replaced it with a different style Rota. I think they are an improvement. Here it is at Canepa's Cars and Coffee in Scott's Valley, CA.

Dan
How is Rich using the car? Tracking it? Daily driver? What are you driving these days? Cheers Bill

Re: Rich Chen's SVX
Rich has not tracked it. His current track car is a Porsche 996 TT that the previous owner converted to RWD. He has about 20 cars of various kinds in a warehouse, including a Citroen SM, a Series 1 E-Type, a couple of Porsches, a couples of Alfas, a BMW 3.0CS, a Tesla roadster, an NSX, plus others.
My daily driver is the '95 Brilliant Red SVX I picked up with 16K+ miles and it now has 22k+ miles. Still stock. Spoke with Rich about first right of refusal if he ever decides to sell the '94 Emerald Pearl. It's got at least $30K in parts in it. Want to build another SVX when I retire in a couple of years. Lessons learned from the Emerald. No hard billet top-mounts. Spend the extra money at the tuner to get an emissions compliant alternate tune, switchable. Get some good race seats (spend the money), bolt-in roll-bar and harnesses. Don't know whether it would make sense to buy back the emerald and transfer all of the part to the Red, then pretty much returning the emerald to stock. My current toy car is a 2005 996 TT Cabrio. Black with palomino leather and a bicycle rack,

Re: Rich Chen's SVX
Hey guys -- Just checking into this thread, haven't been very active on any of my forums lately. :-) The car's doing well here in Northern California, doing just the occasional road journeys on weekends. Doing window regulator replacement during the holidays, but that's the only fix-it item at the moment. Might go to 16-in rims for a while, as they're more compliant for road use; we do pretty poorly for infrastructure around here, many bumps and potholes.
