I am a pessimistic optimistic. I think the worst is going to happen, that way when it does, i don't feel as bad, but if the best happens, i am twice as happy.

Good luck Phil-

In '97 I got in a pretty serious accident and knocked just about all my teeth out of their sockets.. had i not been wearing braces at the time, i would have swallowed all of them. the oral surgeon at the emergency room was able to push them back into their places and cement them in until the skull accepted them back. unfortunately I lost some of the gum tissue around my front teeth.. a year later I went in and had some tissue grafted from the back of my mouth onto the front of my gums and it looks a little better now, but i'm still missing what's called my "papilla" (spelling?) it's essentially the little triangle of gum tissue that goes between your top incisors.. Better than not having any teeth though!

good luck, and enjoy the legal drugs.. my girlfriend just had all four wisdom teeth out and they gave her some oxy-something-or-other.. woooooo! was she loopy!!

LOL wouldnt that be a nice surpise!
alacrity024: My situation sounds somewhat the same as yours, only i knocked the front two out and the two next two them half out. They did the same to mine, but all failed and i had to have route canals So know im getting oral implants, and the tissue graft will be the next surgery i get! Yours sounds way more sever then mine though

And about the ice cream thing, its all worked out...ive worked at a dairy queen for 6 years Well im going in now, talk to you all soon.

good luck

I just had oral surgery about a week ago to get a tooth removed. It was a VERY PAINLESS experience, unlike most regular dentists. He gave me a shot in the arm, said it would make me drowsy, I was trying to feel if I was getting tired and then next thing I know I'm waking up It was great , unlike the outrageous bill I hope all goes well and it is as painless as possible. The pills you will get will make recovery very bearable.

I just had had a temporary crown put in, awaiting a permanent one. He had to grind off so much tooth he hit bone. YIKES. Darvoset (sp?) helped me get through it, though.

Best of luck, Phil. We'll keep you in our thoughts.

If someone wanted me to tell all my secrets and those of my loved (and unloved) ones, all he'd have to do is get close to my teeth with something metallic and sharp.

Hope everything goes really well and that there IS such a thing as "painless dentistry".

Oral surgery?

Is that where the surgeon uses his teeth instead of a scalpel?
