very few Blue SVXes...how come?

Why weren't there a lot of Blue SVXes at the meet, like Alanscouse's? I thinks it's a pretty color. Is this what they call the LagunaBay Blue? My daughter loves this color when she saw the picture of Alan's SVX. She's been asking me before about an SVX of this color, I told her I've never seen one...until the Indy Meet.
I just wondered why

I have seen 2 of them on LSD. One was driven by an older man and another by a young lady (around 26ish). They are around -- just well hidden compare to the white ones.

I saw one in Colorado. What a nice color! It really brings out the stylish looks of the SVX. Though I can't decide which looks better. Pearl white or laguna blue?

Only Three? Cool...my daughter keep insisting that I should repaint mine into blue and leave the top, trunk and spoiler black.
Hmmm...tough decision. I'm thinking, it's not a bad idea. She's my fashion consultant, she might be right on this one too.

maybe they are on the west coast...

I have only seen about a 15-or-so SVXs and 4 were Laguna Blue (including mine). 3 of the 4 were 95 L models. The last one I saw was about a month ago parked at a Thai restaurant in Reno I just had dinner at. It was very stange walking into the parking lot and seeing what looks exactly like your own SVX (right down to the tinted windows). I thought it was my car for a second until I remembered that we drove the girlfriend's Forester.

I love the pearlies, but I really wanted a 95 or later model and since they didn't have pearlies anymore, I went with the next best color, laguna blue.

Cheers,
Matt

I am a pessimistic optimistic. I think the worst is going to happen, that way when it does, i don't feel as bad, but if the best happens, i am twice as happy.

Viv : The official color is "Laguna Blue Pearl " according to the Subaru brochure I have and 1996 was the last year the color was offered in the US .The three that showed up in Lafayette ,Ind were all different in one way or another , most notably were the interiors , one had leather seats , one had Ecsaine ( Suede finish ) and the LS model had fabric seats . I know of about two other blue ones here in Northern Ohio .
In photos I have seen of SVX meetings in Japan and Germany I have never seen a blue one , so it may be that the color was only offered in North America .

Best Regards :Alan.

PS: Attached is my favorite shot of the car .

Yep ... us Laguna Blue owners are always eager to point out how (comparatively) rare and (unconditionally) gorgeous they are.

I have some pics of Japanese blue ones but not sure if they were re-sprays - I'll check the JDM catalogues

If I ever had mine painted, I would leave the black top and trunk alone and paint over the purple with...YELLOW

Alan, thanks for the official name of the color. I asked somebody at the meet about that color and I guess didn't know the exact name either. BTW, that's the shot I took out of my digital camera, I'm glad you like it. My daughter's eyes were so big when she saw that picture. She said, "MY SVX is gonna be that color!" Mine has an Ecsaine/Leather interior. I like it better than the all leather interior.

Thank for the infos
