Smile warranty

Whatever Subaru gives you I will match. I think its 1 or 2 years. Believe me, we obey all torque specs when it comes to wheel bearings!

mike.......

if i can make it through a sheared piston and a $3000 repair bill you can hang in there too. buy a back up and then get her fixed.

my feelings were that i had come to far to give up now.

Significant Technical Input Registered SVX Classic SVX
BEARING/TIRE NOISE

I went to the Subaru dealer today about my wheel bearings. I have a roaring coming from the right rear wheel (To this point I have had 5 wheel bearings replaced on the right rear, including a housing with the last one. This was done 44,000 miles ago) . The SVX Master Technician listened
quite extensively with his stethoscope while the car was in the air with all wheels running.
He said my bearings were fine and that was not the noise I was hearing. The only other thing it could possibly be is tire noise (on my AVS db's?)

I called Radial tire, who installed them and they said if my rear alignment was off the tires could
have started to feather and that could account for the noise. I will try swapping tires back to front next week and see if the noise changes position as well.

Do these answers sound correct?

The master tech also said in all the SVX's he has
done transmission fluid replacement on he has never dropped the pan, cleaned the internal strainer or the magnet. Evidentally the external filter (ATK-50 campaign) took care of most of the debris that would otherwise end up inside. He is very knowledgable and would do whatever I asked him to, but I don't think he would put his reputation on the line and tell me something he didn't believe to be true.

I have a backup... a 97 grand cherokee which is sitting in my garage with a blown tranny. Transmissions dont like me. (Although this one lasted 211,000 miles) Also have my cavalier which is getting a new dupont outfit (in medium grey metallic) at the moment. The whole thing went like this. Once I was able to get a car capable of trailering the cav, I would get the cav repainted because I would no longer have to worry about stone chips. Now, I got the grand cherokee... put about 5k on it and the tranny went... so, no way to trailer the cav, and i wont be able to drive it now without worrying about chips. I bought a bra for it, but am concerned about it marring the new paint. On top of this, the svx keeps breaking. Something's gotta give. (Although, my drive home in the SVX tonight made me think about how much I love it. I plan on calling the chevy dealer tomorrow and tell them to stop holding that yellow cavalier for me.)

-Mike Who needs a 100,000 mile warranty, when you can have a tranny shredding, bearing eating, sexy as all hell S-V-X!?

The SVX M-car will never have bearing problems. It has other problems.
