You are right flyer, all was cosmetic so far, but I am afraid for the differential. Either the differential or the steering unit is damaged and leaking oil. I couldn't really pinpoint what kind of oil the car is dropping (but not engine oil), tomorrow is gonna be a busy day with the mechanic and my camera. I will take pics of that wrecked black SVX over here and ask him if he can sell it as a whole.

As for the remodeling thing, I may be looking at a different lip for my bumper, only the lip. Let me see what I can do about it.

I will keep you updated with everything.

BTW, I was able to save the clear corner lens (I am using sand paper and polish) that was in direct contact with the metal door, and I have another corner but without the lens that I can use to redo it. The right headlight is damaged, the grille is ok, the left headlight has a broken chassis only which I am fixing with superglue. Keeping fingers crossed.

The HOOD is INTACT

Those are indeed hard pictures to look at!
Just out of curiosity, in hindsight, could you have avoided
this by braking hard and then steering around the MB?
Or did you panic and get the car uncontrollable when you
locked up the brakes?
Braking kills a lot of people this time of year in the Northeast,
especially when deer are involved....

One of the best looking SVX's on the block, and this happens. Really sorry Silverspear, I hope this works out.

I guess I could give a "look on the bright side", but I can't really think of one besides you are OK.

What will be your feeling when you are doing around 55 mph on an open road when suddenly, and for few feet ahead of you, you get surprised by a barracade?
That what happened to me: from the left to the right:
Tree, 2 or 3 feet then the mercedes, around 5 feet then the parked red BMW then 2 feet then the fuel fillers, then tight space for just one car whose direction is not flowing with the road and then the gas station building. I had no where to avoid it, I never panicked, I was conscious of what I was doing. EIther I cut the mercedes in half killing all 4 boys, or hit the tree or the bmw or try my luck with the additional space in order to try to stop.

Earl, Tim and Rob, thanks for your concerns...

Rob, don't worry, it will be better than ever no serious body damage.

I am currently en route to Lebanon to hunt this MB driver down and beat him with a wet noodle. Seriously, good to hear that you are OK as well as the damage to the SVX not being that bad(at least fixable).

Thanks Keith, let the hunting and shooting to us, Lebanese people. We became very skilled after 30 years of civil war.
U can come over and enjoy a vacation as a guest of mine over here

Newsflash: I was talking to my dad this evening about my accident, and it seems that the expert who came and took pictures of the accident, gonna give me rightness in 100% of total damage. That means that the other guy must pay for the whole damaged that was caused to me.
If he refuses to pay, my dad is going to sue him which shouldn't take more than 3 months to settle according to the family lawyer. Then he must pay for the damaged he caused me and for the gas station and the lawsuit fees. So I dunno what will happen..

I can answer this.
It happened to me. Actually it was a motorhome.
I had no where to go and drove almost through it!
(Not in my SVX) They had come from the right shoulder,
and were making for a U-Turn on a highway.
From highway speeds to 0, in the blink of an eye.
There's really not much to those motorhomes, but
that big ole driveshaft slowed me down!
Destroyed my tricked out Daytona Turbo Z.

I'm sitting here just shaking my head, thinking you must have a little Irish in ya, 'cause the luck of the Irish was certainly with you. Given the situation as you described it, it is unbelievable how relatively little damage got done. Any damage is too much, but no injuries, and mostly cosmetic stuff.... that's a testimony to your driving skills.

Good luck in getting everything fixed up nice and quick. Will be interesting to see what changes you've made once it is back in tip-top shape.

Sorry to see your car got hurt, poor SVX. Hopefully you'll have it all fixed up soon.

Umm . . . Did you look at where he lives?

He could pay top dollar almost anywhere in Europe and never come close to your free + shipping gift. Also, don't assume everyone in the world celebrates Christmas.

Don't take offense if he doesn't take you up on your offer.

Pearly, Bud, Bipa, Slon, and Dan, thank you all for your concerns, as a matter of fact I asked Slon if he can send me a couple of headlight since each one at the dealership costs $550 new. It's a rip off, but i dunno how even Fuji allows such a thing. Some parts I have seen on subaruparts are cheaper than over here others are more expensive. For example the flange costs around $192 on subaruparts, whereas over here it is $140. The headlight on subaruparts cost $325, over her it is $550.

I also promise Slon I will be sending him a gift as a gesture from me if he helps me out in this.
