I changed a total of 13 o-rings when I did the conversion. I took pictures of each location and I'll probably put together a guide on doing the conversion.

I'm interested in fixing and converting my r12 system. I would like info and what parts and procedures are needed to do it.

I'm working on the procedure but as for parts:

- retrofit kit (included o-rings, fittings, oil and an r134 sticker)
- new dryer

I just got this drier from the local Advanced Auto parts store, which came with the 2 o-rings for the lines and the Interdynamics retrofit kit, which came with 3 cans containing 12oz R134 + 3oz oil each and the necessary adapter fittings. You will need to remove the high pressure fitting from the original drier and install it on the new drier. Aside from that, I just went to a shop to have the system evacuated but in retrospect, I should've had them flush it as well.

A word of caution, do not overfill. The 92 SVX AC system only holds 25oz of R-12 max, which is equivalent to about 20-21 oz of R134, so you shouldn't use more than 2 cans.

So are r134 retrofit kits universal for all r12 A/C systems. Or do I need to find a kit that is disigned specificly for the SVX.

Mine was a universal kit. I was actually short one o-ring of a particular size to complete the job. Fortunately my dad was able to get that one by itself.

Dayle,

Do you guys change the 'body" seal of the compressor itself? Mine is leaking evidently! I might take you up on your $200 + core.

thanks.
