Can we test the boys at customs by cutting them in half too???

I think the WORST SVX crash i've ever seen was the white one that looks like it got hit by a train... the one that got rearended by the truck was bad.. but not NEARLY as F'd as the white one.. that was just like.. twisted to hell

An interesting story.

I purchased my SVX from a doctors wife.
She bought it in 1994 to replace her 92.

Her 92 was destroyed in a crash, that went like this.

One winter day, while traveling in the fast lane (where we all do I suspect) an escort flys by in the right lane. Ahead two cars travel side by side. The escort tries to fit between and fails. It clips the right rear of the car ahead in the left lane and both begin to spin out. She tries to avoid the spinning cars and does. She is slowing down now in the right lane and in full control. The semi behind however is not in control. It slams into the SVX and now she is out of control and plows headlong into a bridge support. She climbs from the car without a scratch, to the surprise of the trucker. He was sure he had killed her.

She bought the 93 cause it was the only one she could find, and felt like the SVX had saved her life. And Kept it for 10 years. To my great pleasure.

The wheels on the left have a little L on them, the wheels on the right have nothing and can go on either side

Significant Technical Input
The wheels have a 'fan' effect, evacuating air from under the car to the outside. Look closely at the design of the spokes.

If I remember from reading the article, (which the link is broken now), he was not buckled in, and was thrown from the car, which is probably how he was killed.

The day my big wreck comes, I sure hope it's in the SVX....

-Sure....but the same effect occurs if you spin them in reverse, only that the airflow also reverses ....

Actually, if I remember right, he was not thrown from the car. He fell asleep at the wheel after working a double shift, and drove off th road. It wasnt the crash that got him, it was a tree branch that penetrated the windshield in the drivers side area. Thats what I remember. Can hold the car at fault for that. Glass is glass.

My SVX was rearended at the begining of 2004 by a full size Ford F-250 lifted 4X4. I am not totally happy with the repair, but the car held up quite well and was easily fixed. I wish I had pictures of the truck that hit me. The front bumper was bent and twisted under the front and into the left tire. I am sure my damage was less. They only had to replace the rear spoiler and trunk lid with tail light lenses. The truck needed new bumper, new fender, new grill, and hood repair (creasd the hood).

Hi Greg. You think that picture was bad , you should have seen the look on my wife's face when that was dropped in our driveway I could rock the car on the floor pan in my driveway.

I've posted the story before, but in a nut shell, the owner fell asleep at the wheel and launched it off the road in to a ditch and up against a tree. He flew so far off the road he wasn't seen until the next day

He was in the hospital for a day and a half with a pucntured lung, broken collar bone and fractured ankle, but survived.

...but that would increase the pressure under the car at high speed, rather than decrease it.
