God protects fools, little children and cars called SVX
Check this out...its weird but true, I swear.
Last night a nasty bit of storms came through KC. Lots of lightning and rumors of tornados on the TV. The sirens were going pretty bad and I couldn't hear myself think at my apartment My friend Farhan called me up and asked if i wanted to play a new game cube game that he had got. I took off for his place and just before we got everything hooked up there was a flash report that with the storm was coming a massive hail storm. Farhan has a garage but it didn't have room for my SVX. I was going to go home where i would at least have a carport to protect her. I go out to my car and get ready to go. I put the key in the ignition and turned but nothing happened. I turned it again and again nothing. No click or anything. The lights and all came on and everything seemed perfectly fine but the SVX woudn't start. I went ahead and turned off everything using power and tried it again but still nothing happened. I was really worried at that point. I just couldn't figure out what was wrong. The battery seemed fine just the ignition wouldn't click. I was stuck. I went back in my friends house and decided that if it hailed I would just have to live with it. The rain was about to start pouring and i didn't want to take a chance jumping a car when it was raining and lightning real bad outside. So we went ahead and played games while the storm passed. As luck would have it we just got a little rain and no hail whatsoever. Farhan was going to offer me a ride home but i decided to try the SVX one more time and sure enough, it started right up as if to say, "ok, we can go home now" I shut off the engine and started it back up 2-3 times all without any problems what so ever. Its crazy. I drive home and start to pull into my carport and see something nasty. Next to where i park there is a black maxima (my neighbors car) and he is out looking at it. Apparently lightning (my neighbor said it was lightning but I couldn't tell) or wind or something knocked over a tree that stands...well stood in front of our carport and it was knocked down onto our carport. Didn't look like it did a whole lot of damage to the maxima but i couldnt' really tell. I'm just glad my SVX wasn't parked there. When i left for work this morning the apartment complex already had a team of people out there removing the tree. The carport doesn't look too damaged but one of the crossmemebers was definitly broken from the tree. Sooooooo, don't know what to say except i'm sort of glad that my car decided it didn't want to go home last night

Wow! Interesting story... Weird things like that happen from time to time. Glad you and your SVX weathered the storm OK...
