Are those $20 SVX car covers on eBay any good?

I see they have some cheap car covers on eBay and was wondering if any of them are good.

yeah and they're not thermally sealed so your paint will get messed up in colder months. In other words they'd be alright for blocking dust or maybe rain, but not storage.

I have not seen them on E-bay but do you think they would be worth it to cover my SVX for a move? I will be towing my SVX behind a big truck and want to cover the car to help protect it from the road junk the truck kicks up.

As mentioned, they are good for dust. They are not water resistant and in the winter they freeze onto the car and rip when you try to remove them. Terrible.

I use the genuine OEM subaru cover for mine, but only in the garage. I found when using it outside it tends to freeze to the car and it's difficult to remove it without it ripping. Additionally, I've had to replace the clear "window" in it a few times because it tends to get hazy.

I use a Top-end Wolf's Head cover for mine. It is water proof. breathable and lockable. I have had no problems, but I live in a temperate climate. It is custom made and fits the SVX like a glove. I love it.

I paid $160 for mine and have seen it priced between $160-$300 on various websites. I don't recall whom I ordered mine through. I just searched the net until I found the best deal.

Dont cover it while towing! Especially with a cheap cover with cheap fabric. The fabric will blow and ripple in the wind no matter how tightly you cinch it down. This is essentially sandpaper rubbing on your paint for 2000 miles....sure you want to do that?

If you're that worried about it, get the blue painters tape stuff and tape up leading edges, mirrors...whatever you want, and give it a good wash when you get to your destination.
