Dyno Flop

So today was the dyno day I've been waiting for since last month. We dynoed an OBD II SVX stock. She only pulled 128hp, kinda low for even stock. Then we put my Pearlie on the dyno. The shop owner started her up to get the car adjusted on the dyno. Then we find out that the rear wheels aren't always engaged and only engage when the front wheels slip. So pretty much I'm not 100% on how to put it into FWD mode so we weren't able to dyno mine. I'm just curious why the OBD IIs AWD system would act differently that the OBD I. Guess I jsut have to wait till I get the 6MT put in to Dyno.

Not mine, the stocker.

San Diego Mini Meet.

Final Results.

Okay, either the dyno was out of calibration or there's something wrong with your stock SVX. How many miles are on it? What gear did they have the trans in? You should have seen something more like 150-160 hp.

She had a really bad oil leak and 100K+ miles. The tranny was in 3rd I beleive. Thats why I was really hoping to get mine the dyno and give the SVX some credibility back.

The oil leak shouldn't result in a hp drop like you saw. You might want to get a Select Monitor hooked up to it to make sure your knock sensors are okay (bad ones can pull back timing, thus a loss of power). When was the last time the plugs were changed? Did the dyno operator record A/F during the run?

-Bill

p.s. a slipping trans will kill you on the dyno....

The owner did get the AFR but I didn't get to see it. As for the maintenance of the car, I couldn't tell you what she's done to it. But the operator did say it felt like the tranny was slipping.

Not so much with mine tho... ;-) It was originally an AZ car. I'm sure after the mods I've done it's not smog legal anymore.
