Angry The car sounds horrible with no exaust

Okay...so when I bought the car from TomsSVX it had super patented "tomstock" exhaust gaskets. Basicly the wrong gaskets. Anyhow, Ive been driving with them since I got the car in......the summer? how long HAS it been? Oh well..long story short, they blew out on the highway, had to hear that obnoxious noise for an hour on the way home. the only way to combat the cabin noise during acceleration ws to scream as loud as possible untill one of three things happened.
1. the car reached the correct speed and I could let it drop doen to 1500 rpm where it was quiet
2. my voice gave out
3. I passed out

So yeah, I finally broke something. Eugh, hope its nice out tomorrow...I cant be seen driving something that SOUNDS like a honda

When there are exhauxt issues, it sometimes affects how the car runs too.

AHAHAHA Ultra Tomstock(no time or money to wait for good gaskets). They are metal gaskets meant for a 300zx. I just clamped the hell out of the flanges. Just get new donuts bolts and springs and ur good. Or just buy the same gaskets I used and do it over again... Probobly just a bolt broke

It literally affected the way my car shifted. I'm not making that up. It shifted with a thud until I replaced the O2 sensors and the exhaust. Now it's smooth as a ski on glassy water.

That still amazes me how the components on the car interacts so closely.

heh.

I liked my Explorer, but the Mustangs just dont do it for me I guess. I own a 1967 coupe, and its for sale because I just think its boring and not worth the effort, as I wont enjoy it. Thats just me though.

Id rather be driving a Subaru (obviously) but Ill stick to smaller cars when it comes to vintage, like a Triumph roadster, MG etc.

Amazingly, the tomstock gaskets seem to be perfectly intact. its the exhaust being sheered off between the y pipe and the resonator that is makign all that noise. I rode my bike to work today just so I didnt have to hear that ....Eugh. The sound of my car crying makes me angry. Getting it fixed tonight. Thanks guys, and mike, thanks for putting up with me while angry. Lol
