junk yards
Okay, I live 3 1/2 hours south of Phoenix on the coast of a town called Puerto Penasco. I've got a beautiful 94 bordeaux SVX that makes me wish for the days when I had a longer commute. I need to get a 92-98 Subaru AWD tranny for a swap. I want the 4.44 and I know from reading on the site that I need to get the matching rear differential. What else do I need and since I'm going to have to get it shipped to the border anyway, should I be looking somewhere other than AZ for it at a better price lower mileage etc?
Thanks and any time you've got an SVX in my town, drop me a line first I'd love to see another one. Todd |

The 4.44 trans and matching rear diff are all you need for the swap...

First, Chike is correct.
Just in case....I'm not sure what cars the 4.44 came in, but make sure the rear diff has the five bolt ring around the bearing (I think most/all Imprezzas do not have the proper rear diff). the thread linked below was the most help for me (I recently went 4.11), but a search of 4.11 and 4.44, along with a thorough read will help ease your worry... http://www.subaru-svx.net/forum/show...threadid=20849 |
