Easy fix for that annoying front end noise.

If your SVX is similar to mine then you hear a noise when driving over small bumps from the suspension.
The noise comes and goes, sometimes it worse than other times.
Lubricating the front sway bar bushings will make it go away for awhile but it always comes back.
In my search to fix it I found no loose parts and have even replaced a few parts with no improvement.
There have been several threads on this subject.

Well I have found an easy fix that works for me.

Exercise, Yup I think the suspension likes exercise.

I found that driving at 30 to 40 miles per hour and rolling the steering wheel from side to side so that car moves from one side of the lane to the other and back does the trick. I do this as soon as I can when I start to drive after the SVX has been sitting for a long. Back and forth across the lane quickly several times and it’s fun too. I have to wait sometimes until the road is clear. With this the body rolls and the suspension travels a lot compared to the normal driving I do.

Please give it a try and see what you think.

I think you're onto something...

For some months after I got my SVX the rear suspension made a very noticable squonk at low speeds that has since totally disappeared. A couple of minor issues have resolved over time that I've attributed to the fact that the car sat on the dealer's lot for quite awhile before arriving in my driveway.

I think he's onto something too! My suspension was squaking when I first bought the car after it had sat on a dealer's lot for 2 months.

After I 'excercised' my suspension on some twisty roads over the last 2 months, the noise is completely gone!

Well, um... it's a squeak that sounds like, squoooonk.

Truth is, I did not invent that word. It's a song title from an old Genesis album. Very old.
