tranny?
hey guys,
another question im pondering, the car im looking at is a 1992 with 115k on it. the guy says the tranny is the original but he put a bigger tranny pan on it and has been using redline synthetic tranmission fluid. i drove the car and it still shifts hard, should i be worried about the tranny? thanks |

See if the seller has the tranny resistor unplugged. That will make the tranny shift hard.

I would question the bigger tranny pan. I seriously doubt this was ever offered as an item for sale to the public becuase of the size of the market. Did he say it was a custom job? Redline ATF is rated very highly BTW.

Two things jumped out at me from your post:
1. The tranny pan. I don't know of a larger one offered by anybody. Are you sure he didn't say or mean cooler? 2. 'It still shifts hard.' The tranny shouldn't shift hard. It should be very smooth and not 'hard' at all. If the shifts are 'hard,' then it's probably slipping before it catches.
