Just bought one, too

Hi John - Just bought the last one on the current Ebay listing. Don't have a Paypal acount so I'll send a check. Saw a couple of the tape versions at the 10th Meet last summer and enjoyed them. Look forward to the DVD. Looks like you put a lot of work into it.

Looks like I've missed out. If you plan on putting any others up, you've got a buyer right here.

How did I miss this thread?

John - I met you at the smokies meet a few years back- good to see you back in action - I wondered what became of you whenever I searched for a picture on the svx cdrom you gave me there.

Good luck with the dvd sales, I look forward to seeing you stick around here for a while.

I have a spare DVD & model car now ...

Well, not really - but, I do not have the heart to play with my car I received yesterday, or put the DVD in the player *huge sob* I opened the car box and cried.

NOT from your goods, John, not at all. You see ... someone crashed into my SVX on Monday morning *cry* I had only had her for 21 days ... I think it is going to be written off today !!!

I was stopped to turn right, and got hit in the rear end at about 70kph. He did not even hit his brakes, or swerve ... Not much fun ! It is now Thursday and I still cannot move until I have been dosed up on anti-inflammatory and pain-killers.

The model looks like a very lovely piece of work, it is soooo heavy, it hurts my arms and neck atm to lift it out of the box. I think it will be a few weeks before I can play with her and paint her up. It looks very lovely though. Even if I cannot end up getting another SVX, at least I will have a model one. Maybe I should crunch it's rear end in ... now there is a plan.

Very nice work, and I hope I can bear to watch the DVD soon!!!

Sounds like something that will definitely have to go on the "To Get" list.

On a more serious note...copyright.

I for one am ashamed and astounded that people can so flagrantly copy such things as videos and magazines and sell them for profit. Likewise, the SVX image...we don't own that, Subaru does. They are entitled to money from us. Oh...excuse me one moment:

*James hears a commotion, goes to back room, opens door. A loud screeching is heard from a multitude of monkeys chained to scanners, PC's and sewing machines. "What the hell is going on here" as he picks up a jacket with embroidery: "Sabaru SUX"....300 jackets and you simian fools spell it as SUX....oh, I can see it now...Valet, park my SUX at the front". James picks up a sheaf of bootlegged Road and Track Guides...."agggh" he screams, "the colour saturation is wrong...when did Subaru release a vomit yellow one...oh, they did". "Work harder you ungrateful wretches or its back to the typewriters!!" Slams door.

Now, where was I....ah yes, copyright. Shame on ye for copying things so that all of us in SVX land can access them...and those miserable souls who scan in articles on the net...Napster them I say!!

*laughing*

Seriously, well done!

Can't wait to see it....now Countess, about that little 'fix' for DVD players!

What's a good player for dvd on a laptop? I have a 1.8ghz p4 thinkpad running win2k 256mb ram and dvd is choppy on the ibm player (intervideo) and a couple other freebies I downloaded. It was fairly good on zoom player but still not smooth. First time playing dvd on a new laptop so maybe this is just what to expect and I didn't know. (this is not just John's dvd - this is all dvd's)

That's awfully strange to hear on a laptop like yours! WinDVD should play just fine. I've also used PowerDVD as well. If anything, video should be smoother on a laptop due to the speed difference between LCD screens and CRT screens. On an LCD screen the frames of the DVD should blend into each other.

(becoming less as LCD screens continue to improve)
